The American Church is Dying

The American Church is dying and we have only ourselves to blame. The church cares more about a book than it does about God. We have allowed our halls to be filled with violence with our weapons made out of bits of scripture we gleaned on our own. We ravish each other in praise in a house we built to praise God. We build ourselves up in picturesque imagery of the concept of a righteous man. We care more about how we are perceived and how people are perceived in the context of our beliefs based on a book written by men than we are about our Heavenly Father.

And the worst part? We fill our hallowed halls with all of it in an attempt to please a God people believe they know. What happened? Once, there were powerful demonstrations of thousands coming to know the Father. People will bend on their knees at the slightest hint of the Presence of God. We saw the truth of that with the Asbury revival of 2023. People poured in from all over to have a moment in that sanctuary where no one knew who was working behinds the scenes and no big name pastor was preaching and worship was led by college kids with no name. No one cared who was up there. No one got introduced on stage. No one got splashes of applause beyond God. No one promoted what occurred with their business practices. Word spread on its own, naturally. Word of mouth and then by the news. No website was up at the start. No one shouted out "Hey, I'm starting a revival tonight." No human planned it.

Do you know how many "tent revivals" I see crop up everywhere in every denomination you can fathom and not one has led to the outbreak of heaven like it did in Asbury. Do you know how many people are quick to sprout what their pastor told them on the Bible over what they received from God on the matter personally? Do you know how many people I see who are quicker to defend their pastor than they are to go talk to God Himself in a conversation about one matter or another? How many people would die over their pastor than hold a church leader accountable to God?

And people wonder why my generation is fleeing the church.

My generation has seen and lived the corruption that lies in the walls of the American church and we will not stand for it anymore. The generations before us have built up an image that is a mockery of the True and Living God and placed their names and their images and their interpretations of this and that every which way you care to name and then use that image to seek and destroy anything different from it. Now, don't get me wrong, many can agree on base principals but get into the nitty gritty details of a personal belief on one matter or another? Sharpened swords fly under the guise of concern for your eternal soul. People walk away from all of this believing they are walking away from God and never learn the real Person hidden behind these piles of human made dog shit.

Adonai is Wonderful. Adonai is here to make you whole. To heal. To love you. To protect you. Jesus died for you to know the Father so intimately that you can hear Him shhing you when you are terrified, to feel Him hold you in the night, to play with Him in your sleep, to learn directly from Him. Heaven on Earth looks like the embrace of a Father and His child in all hours of the day. Sitting and waiting on conversations about anything and everything. Silly conversations, stupid conversations, ridiculous requests to have a pet racoon and ask questions like how will bathrooms work on new Earth once its remade. It is a deeply intimate and personal relationship between you and the God who created you before you were formed in your mother's womb. It is not your relationship with your pastor, your church, big name anything, your beliefs on one matter or another or even attempts to pull people to what you believe is God.

The American Church has forgotten its most important and precious relationship and it is time to once again focus on it. It is time we ask and consent to Adonai tearing away anything inside of us He did not place there. To ask Him to restore what we tore out believing it was sinful in some way, shape, or form. Ask and consent He hush anything inside drowning His voice out to you. America, please, ask and consent that Adonai take over your personal wellbeing and faith to mold how He wills it - not how some shmuck called Pastor So and So wills it. Get rid of the notions and ideas you got taught and go back to your Father in Heaven. He is there. He is waiting. He only desires your consent to move in your life in a deeply personal way.
